This is an excellent, extremely user friendly application with one main purpose: recovering data from otherwise inaccessible CD's and DVD's.

CD/DVD Diagnostic is designed to operate under Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000 or XP with all types of CD and DVD devices. Under Windows NT, 2000 and XP Administrator rights are required to install the program, but not to use it.
After installing CD/DVD Diagnostic, you must click on either the desktop icon or the Start menu shortcut to run the program. It will then examine the hardware configuration on your computer and present you with a list of devices that are available. It is strongly recommended that you use a writer-type device for recovering discs rather than a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM device.
CD/DVD Diagnostic does not recover data from quick-erased CD-RW discs.
After the disk is examined, the software displays icons for all of the files on the CD or DVD and lets users recover data by dragging the icons for each file onto the desktop. Here are some screenshots that are self explanatory:
